American Car Imports in London have been very successful in promoting the new Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Toyota sold more than a million of the famous FJ40 2-door wagons worldwide beginning in 1960, and more than 300,000 Land Cruisers have found U.S. buyers since.

American Car Imports works as an independent importer, importing the Toyota FJ Cruiser for specific customers in the UK .

There are still FJ40s in service in some of the roughest terrains in the world, even though Toyota hasn't built them since 1983.

A new kid on the retro block has appeared on-and off-roads around the USA – The FJ Cruiser. Based on 4Runner underpinnings, the production FJ Cruiser is remarkably unchanged from the well-received concept that was first shown at the 2003 Detroit auto show. Toyota revealed the exterior prototype of the production vehicle at last year's Chicago Auto Show, declaring it as return to the roots of SUVs.

Four-wheel-drive FJ Cruisers are very capable off-road. Whilst the vehicle measures eleven inches shorter than a 4Runner, its wheelbase is shortened by only four inches, which should result in good departure and approach angles. An available locking rear differential and the economical 4.0-liter V-6, rated at 245 hp and 282 lb-ft of torque, will help the off roaders enjoy the vehicle as much as the on roaders.

The FJ's way out styling is definitely more interesting than its competitors'. Taking cues from the first-generation Land Cruiser, such as round headlights with an integrated grille, the upright windshield, the white-cap roof, and wraparound rear glass. In recent years heritage and nostalgia have been the “in thing” with car manufacturers, look at Ford with the Thunderbird the GT40 and the iconic Mustang, Volkswagen with the Beetle, and BMW with the Mini.

The FJ has an array of standard equipment, such as a CD player, air-conditioning, power windows and power locks, and in common with other - as with the rest of the Toyota SUV line up-stability and traction control, ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist. Optional front-side and front and rear side curtain air bags add to the safety factor. However, the fun starts with the options list, your FJ Cruiser can be personalised in numerous ways, no two FJ’s will be the same.

With prices ranging from the low £20,000’s to the low £30,000’s there is an FJ for every customer.

The 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser is already on sale and proving very popular here in the UK. This is an American Car that offers something different, stylish and innovative, call American Car Imports on 44 (0)20 8889 4545.
